About the event
"One if by land and two if by sea..."
We are all familiar with that story. But what we're not familiar with is that the Old North Church congregants were loyalists. Old North's fame began on April 18, 1775 when two patriot vestrymen climbed the steeple and held two lanterns as a signal from Paul Revere that the redcoats were marching to Lexington and Concord, and coming via the Charles River.
Catherine Matthews with Old North Illuminated will speak specifically about the years 1775 - 1778 when loyalists Old North was closed for worship...and why.
